CHANGE

We have been looking at things that change. We have found out that many things are changing all around us. Some things change quickly, others slowly.

We have all changed.

We looked at our baby photos, toddler photos and our Kindergarten photos.
Some of us wrote about how we have changed over the last few years.

This wee man has grown up and is in Room 2.

When I was a baby I had to crawl. I drank milk. I made noises. I really was a baby.
Now I can ride my bike. I had a four wheeler when I was three. When I was five I could ride a two wheeled motor bike.

THE LIFE CYCLE OF A FROG

Mother frog hides the eggs from other animals that might eat the eggs.
The tadpoles are black. The eggs are white.
The tadpoles swim, eat and grow.
They breathe through their gills and they eat the weeds.
Next they grow legs at the back of the tadpole and next they grow their front legs.
Their tail get smaller and smaller, now it looks more like a frog.
When they don't have a tail they are a frog. They hop into the water and then the frog lays eggs and it starts all over again.
I like our tadpoles. I can't wait until they are frogs.

TADPOLES

We have some tadpoles in our block.
Come and see them. We hope that they will grow legs soon.

We have got some tadpoles and they will turn into frogs. They are silver. I like them. They are cool.

We have some tadpoles in our classroom.
Mrs Groom needs to get some fish flakes. I like the tadpoles. I don't know where Mrs Groom got them from. I can't wait for the tadpoles' tails to fall off.
By Blake

The tadpoles like the corners of the tank. They like playing in the water.
They are watching us. It makes me feel funny.
By Raiven

April 20th
Over the holidays Mrs Groom looked after the tadpoles. She told us that two tadpoles got their front legs at Easter weekend. They are called froglets when they have four legs and a tail. Two days later their tails had shrunk and disappeared.
When we came back to school this week we saw another tadpole change from a froglet to a frog.
Here is a photo of our tiny frog.Sometimes he sits on his bridge and watches us. We saw him climb up the side of the tank too.
He used to eat tadpole food. Now he catches flies.

Can you see the froglet's small front leg?

Here are our tadpoles.
They are at different stages.

Come and see our cute frog.

We held a Duathlon a couple of weeks ago. We ran, swam and ran again around our field.

I am going to wear red on Thursday.
I hope Red House wins the Duathlon.
